The Southeast Region Meeting and NACD Summer Conservation Forum and Tour is headed to the Revolutionary City! Join us in Williamsburg for the NACD Summer Board Meeting (August 3-5, 2018) and the Southeast Region Meeting (Augsut 5-7, 2018) for what will be a great networking and educational session.  

Information & Registration Items: 

  • Registration – Online registration is available thru NACD here. Online registration ends July 13, 2018. Registration may also be submitted by completion of this paper registration form and mailed with check to the attention of NACD as noted on the form. Do not mail registration forms or fax to NACD attention after July 6, 2018. For planning purposes, please submit registrations by the deadline. Tours and meals cannot be guaranteed if registering onsite.
  • Hotel Reservations – Reservations can be made with the Williamsburg Lodge directly via phone at 1-800-261-9530 indicate you’re with the 2018 NACD Summer Conference to receive the group rate.   • Draft Agenda – The draft agenda is packed full of training and networking. View the draft conference booklet and learn about key speakers, review breakout session descriptions, study up on tour options, and more.
  • Virginia Scholarship Opportunities – This scholarship application is for both VACDE members as well as directors interested in attending the Southeast meeting. The VACDE will award scholarships to employees up to $500 to cover registration and lodging only. The Education Foundation will award a handful of scholarships to district directors in the amount of $350 to cover the cost associated with Southeast Meeting registration. Funds will be awarded on a reimbursement basis to the district. Review full scholarship guidelines before applying. Completed applications are due by June 15.   • Sponsor/Vendor/Exhibit Opportunities- Learn details regarding sponsorship levels and come on board as a meeting sponsor to gain recognition throughout the conference. Purchase sponsorship opportunities by sending payment directly to the VASWCD.

Additional Registration Details:

This week in Williamsburg will provide you with numerous education opportunities in a range of topics. From morning general sessions, Monday breakout session and Tuesday’s tours, you’ll have a chance to learn about the deep history of the region as well as the unique natural resource concerns it faces.

Your Southeast Region registration of $350 includes entrance into the Sunday evening reception, a light Monday breakfast, the Monday Hall of Fame Luncheon, a light Tuesday breakfast, your choice of one of four tour options/lunch on Tuesday afternoon organized by the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD) and the Tuesday banquet dinner. Tour options include an agriculture tour, an education and coastal topics tour, an urban and forestry-themed tour and a historical tour. All four of these options include lunch, but you’ll want to save your seat as soon as possible! Early registrations receive tour preference priority, and registrations completed after July 13 cannot be guaranteed a tour slot.

How to Get to the Meeting

The closest airports to Williamsburg are Richmond International Airport (RIC), Norfolk International Airport (ORF) and Newport News-Williamsburg Airport (PHF). Transportation to and from the hotel from Richmond International Airport or Norfolk International Airport can be arranged through local shuttle providers.
